Tenshu
Construction of the beautiful 5-story tenshu began in 1658 and finished just two years later. It was destroyed by a lightning-caused fire in 1665. The current structure was rebuilt in 1931.
Stone Monument for Toyotomi Hideyori and Yodo-Dono
This stone marks the place where Toyotomi Hideyori and his mother, Yodo-Dono, committed suicide after the fall of Osaka Castle. It remains well-cared for to this day.
Otemon Gate
The Otemon Gate has been designated as an important cultural asset by the Japanese government. This western gate is the main entrance onto the castle grounds.

To avoid disappointment, don’t expect an old-style historical castle - it is completely modern, having been rebuilt in the 1930s. It's still pretty interesting with its displays. Can get pretty crowded and might not be the best place to bring the kids, especially on a steaming summer's day. The view from the top is wonderful and the grounds really are a lovely place for a stroll. Worth a visit provided you don’t expect what isn't - and was never meant to be - there.

The Castle itself is beautiful, renovated but what is more worth it is the view from the top, sometimes there are a lot of crowds because it is a very well known and historical spot in Osaka. Still, I would recommend visiting it if you have the chance to go to Osaka.

The best season to come is autumn season for me because we can see orange trees along the road to Osaka Castle.
