This summer, Yamanashi is welcoming the Fumotto Night Market, set to run daily from mid-July until the end of August. The event location is convenient (right next to the Costco Minami-Alps Warehouse!) and aims to spark regional revitalization by transforming summer nights into a celebration of local culture, food, and community.
The venue will be adorned with 2,000 lanterns and neon signs, where visitors can enjoy a wide array of attractions including gourmet food made from local ingredients, a wine and beer bar, craft and antique vendors, and farm-fresh produce. Traditional Japanese summer festivities will also be featured, such as Bon Odori dancing, fireworks, children’s games, and nightly stage performances.
A highlight of the event is set to be the Night Pool, offering a dreamy, illuminated swimming experience that’s sure to become a core summer memory for families and couples alike.
Admission is free (bring yen if you plan on making any purchases!) and the market will run from 4pm until 9pm throughout its duration.
